Hospitals put on alert

Three protesters at Government House were admitted to Ramathibodi Hospital after clashes with the police early yesterday.



"The victims all had contusions," said hospital director Dr Vinit Puapradit. However, Rajavithi Hospital director Dr Varanee Jinarat said no injured protesters had been admitted into her hospital.

Dr Suphan Srithamma, spokesperŽson for the Public Health Ministry, said the health minister had ordered all hospitals and medical workers to go on 24hour alert. The Emergency Medical Service's acting director, Dr Surachet Satitiniramai, said seven government hospitals near Government House - Vachira, Siriraj, Chulalongkorn, Rajavithi, Pramongkutklao, Ramathibodi and the Police General Hospital - as well as other private medical institutes, were also on constant standby.
