The company has been in business for 12 years and said the discounts - costing Bt50 million- would celebrate its anniversary. It hopes sales will top Bt1.6 billion.

Products from 300 manu¬facturers will be discounted as much as 80 per cent at 33 stores. Customers have the chance to win Bt5,000cash prizes and fivebahts' weight in gold. Bangkok Bank cus¬tomers using their credit cards will get special discounts.

The campaign is highlight¬ing SB Furniture Industry's "Metro Living" collection. The manufacturer says it features "unlimited possibilities in lim¬ited space for condominium residences".

Home Products marketing deputy managing director, Nat Jaritchana admitted political unrest had affected purchasing decisions. He hoped the cam¬paign would lure customers back.

HomePro works to keep choices high and prices low at all times, he added.

The economic downturn had advantages for the company - people are spending more time in their homes and spending more on them, too, he said.
