Neli 'big pack' of crackers targets Bt50m sales
MaeRuay Snack Food Factory has launched a "big pack" of its Neli potato crackers, aim¬ing to widen its customer base to working people and families.
It expects the new package to generate Bt50 million, which would be 25 per cent of its overall sales of Bt200 million, by this yearend. The package contains eight small packs with two tastes - classic and Japanese sauce. Major distribution channels for the package are supermarkets and shop¬ping malls.
Many promotions will be arranged during the introduction period. It also plans to introduce two new tastes later this year.
The company launched Neli about six months ago and has already achieved Bt70 million sales after starting with the Bt12package.
It estimated that the overall snack market by this yearend would grow to Bt18 billion, up about 10 per cent from last year.
Peanut snacks and crackers are expected to show the highest growth. MaeRuay's main product today is KohKae peanut snack, which has an 80percent share of the peanut segment. Neli has a 10percent share of the whole cracker segment. - The Nation
