The Revenue Department on Friday issued a letter to the bank, compelling it to transfer the Bt12 billion deposits belonging to deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's children, Panthongtae and Pinthongta, to the department.
The order is controversial as many figures questioned the department's move, as the order was sent only days before the Attorney General's Office filed the court case to confiscate Thaksin and family's fortunes worth totally Bt76 billion.
