PPP governor candidate
The People Power party has asked Metropolitan Rapid Transit Autho-rity governor Prapat Chongsa-nguan to run as its candidate for Bangkok governor.
Suwat Wansirikul, PPP Bangkok chairman, said Prapat was taking a day or two to decide. He added that former forestry chief Plodprasop Suraswadi had expressed an interest.
"At this initial stage, we still have not concluded who will be running. We must wait to hear from those whom the party has contacted. If in the end no one accepts we will let some former PPP candidate run, because we didn't lose so badly in the last election.
Prapat is believed to have an advantage while some criticise Plodprasop for his role in the controversial export of Bengal tigers to China.
