
President Prapoth Pholpipattanapong recently said STC would file its proposal in October and trade shares by the first quarter of next year. The company expects to raise Bt150 million from the IPO. Its stock will have a par value of Bt1.
STC's products serve the electronics and automobile industries, which are major export sectors. The electronics industry grows 15 per cent each year, while the auto sector expands 20 per cent annually. Company revenue generally increases in line with these growth figures.
STC is reconstructing its business structure in order to prepare itself for the IPO. At present, the company has two subsidiaries: STC-NTIA (Thailand) and STC 1995. STC is bringing in two other firms managed by Prapoth - Advance Packaging and Prima - as subsidiaries.
STC-NTIA (Thailand) is a manufacturer of anti-corrosion products under the Zerust brand. The company is a joint venture between STC and its partner Northern Technologies International Corp (NITC), which is part of the Zerust Global Network. NTIC has transferred know-how to STC to manufacture the products in Thailand.
The Zerust Global Network operates in 45 countries.
STC-NTIA generated revenue of Bt140 million last year.
STC 1995 is the foreign-investment arm of STC, with affiliates in Hong Kong and Malaysia. The company is also a trading firm, exporting the group's products to the Chinese and Malaysian markets. It posted revenue of Bt200 million last year.
Advance Packaging is a producer of LDPE and HDPE packaging products, which generated revenue of Bt320 million l ast year.
Prima is a transport firm that operates solely for STC and its subsidiaries.
"Every subsidiary is expanding its business, both locally and abroad. Advance Packaging showed the highest revenue growth, more than 20 per cent per year. STC booked revenue of Bt500 million last year. The company and its affiliates had combined revenue of Bt1.2 billion. I expect to raise funds to increase the production capacity of each business Company revenue is expected to increase at least 20 per cent per year after the expansion," Prapoth said.
