Court to rule on Rachadapisek land against Thaksin next month

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders decides today it will rule on the Ratchadaphisek land case against fugitive premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Khunying Pojaman on September 17.



The court's announcement came after Thaksin and his wife failed to testify to defend themselves in the court today which was the last day of the hearing.

The couple were scheduled to testify to defend themselves in the court but they have already went into exile in the Britain.

Their lawyer informed the Supreme Court that he they have not contacted Thaksin.

Thaksin is accused of abusing his authority as prime minister to help his wife's purchase of 33 rai of the Ratchadaphisek area from the Financial Institutions Development Fund.
