The Pizza Company, one of the food business of Minor International Plc, in the second quarter of this year suffered from a revenue drop - the first time in history since the company's establishment.

Group chief financial officer Pratana Manomaiphiboon said sale revenue drops 7.2 per cent on year during April and June, compared to the 4-5 per cent growth rate in the first quarter. In the first half, revenue thus dropped 0.1 per cent from the same period last year.

"Our promotion and prices may not be right for consumers. We have changed the strategies and revives the old successful menus to boost revenue. We narrowed the sale decrease in July and revenue in August grew 30 per cent on year," she said.

Pratana believed that the annualised revenue would be positive.

The Pizza Company is the pizza market leader.
