Philips wins deal for F1 night race

Philips has won a deal to install lighting projectors for the first-ever Formula One night race in Singapore.

In a statement, the company said the deal include the installation of about 1,500 lighting projectors, placed 4 metres apart. The lighting provides 3000 lux of light (light intensity), compared to 800 lux for football stadium and 30 lux for street lighting

At night the light is 4 times brighter than a typical stadium.

Singapore will host the first-ever night race on September 28.
