BBL offers quick money tranfer service to India

In co-operation with ICICI Bank, Bangkok Bank can now send Indian Rupee to deposit accounts at ICICI Bank directly, without requiring the services of a third bank.

Bangkok Bank's Global Payment Service Department Manager Thanit Sirichote said in a statement that the bank has developed a new channel for transferring Indian Rupee directly to India's leading bank, ICICI Bank. The recipient with an account at ICICI Bank in India will receive the money more quickly and save on the money transfer fee which is normally charged by a third bank. Bangkok Bank customers with a Bualuang iBanking internet banking account have the additional benefit of paying a reduced fee of only Baht 300 per transaction.

"Bangkok Bank established an Indian Rupee account with ICICI Bank earlier this year to open a new channel for people living in Thailand to send money to their deposit accounts at ICICI Bank as well as other banks in India. ICICI Bank is India's leading bank with assets of more than Bt3.3 trillion, or US$ 100 billion, and more than 1,300 branches in India and around the world. This is a good business alliance for Bangkok Bank which makes transferring money to recipients with accounts at ICICI Bank faster and more efficient.  Customers can also transfer money to recipients with accounts at other banks in India," Thanit said.

Thanit added that Bangkok Bank customers wishing to transfer money for education fees to their children, transfer money to relatives with permanent residency, or send income home in India can transfer the funds via Bangkok Bank's popular internet banking service, Bualuang iBanking. The service has found favor with Indian customers, as they can send money home frequently without needing to go to a bank branch in addition to saving on fees.
