Bangkok, IBM today announces the appointment of Trirat Suwanprateeb as chief technologist for IBM Thailand.
In order to response to the changing nature of innovation in the 21st century, IBM, as a leader in exploring new ways of innovating and managing innovation, established the IBM Innovation Network of Chief Technologists (in addition to the seven countries where IBM has major R&D laboratories) to work closely with universities, clients and local governments to stimulate a thriving innovation ecosystem in their respective countries and to ensure that these countries can fully tap into and bring to their countries IBM's innovation leadership.
Trirat Suwanprateeb, the chief technologist of IBM Thailand will collaborate with a team of 28 newly-appointed IBM Chief Technologists from countries around the world to play a key role in assisting IBM clients, government agencies, universities, business partners and others understand the full scope of IBM Research and innovation initiatives under the program called the IBM Innovation Network. Besides, he will be helping IBM devise and create new initiatives and investments in key global growth markets and ensure innovation and initiatives taking place within IBM Thailand can be shared and leveraged across IBM.

"Trirat will be able to apply IBM's global innovation expertise to the full range of exciting opportunities in Thailand to make sure Thailand benefits from innovation occurring around the world."
In 1948, IBM Corporation Representative was established in Thailand to provide data-processing machine and know-how for the first detailed agricultural and population census. Trirat joined IBM Thailand in 1990 and in his technical specialist role he works closely with clients, especially in banking industry, to implement solutions that cover the entire application lifecycle. In 1999, he successfully completed the certification in IT specialist. The combination of highly skilled professional, experience and business contributions has earned him the distinction of being named the 1st Chief Technologist of IBM Thailand.
