Chaiya prefers 1-year delay in price increase

Commerce Minister Chaiya Sasomsab on Wednesday hosted a meeting with consumers goods manufacturers, to convince them to delay any price increases.

He said that as oil prices are easing, the increase in some products particularly daily products could be delayed by a year, to relieve the public burden.

He added that due to lower oil prices, inflation this year should be at 5-6 per cent, from 7-8 per cent at present.
