Arrest warrants out for Thaksin, Pojaman

The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holder on Monday issued arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Pojaman after they failed to report themselves to stand trail on the Ratchadapisek land purchase.

The panel of judges ruled that both failed to abide by the conditions set by the court for their permission to leave the country.

The court forefeited Bt8 million bail money posted by Thaksin and Bt5 million by Pojaman.

Thaksin and Pojaman were expected by the court at 9 am on Monday but Thaksin had his statement read out on NBT channel to say he would not return to the country to fight graft charges.
