GM and Chevrolet Thailand said John Thomson, vice president of sales, marketing and aftersales, who spearheaded the launch of Chevrolet in the local market in 2002, will be succeeded by Antonio P A Zara, former president of sales for General Motors, Japan from the beginning of next month.

Meanwhile, Rick Wagnor, the global chairman and chief executive of GM will give a speech on "Energy diversity and the current impact of oil prices in today's world" at a luncheon organised by the American Chamber of Commerce at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, on Thursday.

New HP head

Alan Sedghi will take over as managing director of HP Thailand from the beginning of November.

Sedghi, a former chief executive at SAP South Asia and SAP Thailand, will take over from Sanpat Sopon, who had earlier announced his retirement from HP for next February. To ensure business and leadership continuity, Sedghi will work with Sanpat on the transition from this month until October.

KBank's move

Wiwan Tharahirunchote has become the senior executive vice president at Kasikornbank starting from the beginning of this month. She is overseeing all corporate customers of Thailand's fourth largest bank. Wiwan succeeds Boontuck Wangcharoen who left Kasikorn to take over as the new chief executive of TMB Bank.

United Airlines announced the appointment of Joe Mannix as general manager - Thailand.

Mannix is a United Airlines veteran with 36 years of experience with the company. His previous assignments in Asia include stints in South Korea and Vietnam, and his most recent role was as country manager - Vietnam.
