Chiang Mai is hosting the "Visit Lanna" fair from Thursday through August 24 at Rajapreuk Square, highlighting the culture and craftsmanship of the Kingdom's north with a series of spectacular shows.

The 10day event brings together eight northern provinces, among them Chiang Rai, Lampang and Nan. Visitors can travel back in time at the ancient marketplace of Kad Mau, or enjoy folk music at several stages.

Rajapreuk Square, once part of the World Horticultural Fare, is in Mae Hia subdistrict, a 10minute drive from the city centre.
