Market rally as Thaksin leaves Thailand

Thai shares gained 29 points on Thursday or 4.29 per cent on turnover of Bt27 billion, bouyed by the sentiment that political conflicts would end soon following the departure of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Stock analysts said investors believed that Thaksin may seek a political exile as he left Thailand for Beijing today.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand Index ended the day at 705.35 points.
