PAD-led protesters rally in front of PTT headquarter

Some 5,00 protesters led by the People's Alliance for Democracy rally in front of the head office of PTT Plc on Vipavadhi Rangsit Road Friday morning, demanding that the PTT be delisted.



The protesters started gathering at about 9am. Police said if the number of protesters increase, they may have to close some roads leading to the PTT.

Three PAD co-leaders, Sondhi Limthongkul, Somsak Kosaisuk and Somkiart Pongpaibool, arrived at the rally site at 10:30 am.

The leaders took the stage and spoke through megaphones that the PTT should not have been privatised. They demanded it to be delisted.

They also demanded that the PTT reduced the prices of the gas for the sake of poor people. They alleged that the company gained huge number of profits while ignored hardship of people.

All entrances to the PTT headquarter are closed.

Meanwhile Pol Maj Gen Worasak Nopsitthipon, a metropolitan police chief, said that he already assigned police to provide security for the protesters. However police is evaluating the number of the protesters.
