'Pong Lang La-on' calling mobile gamers

RS Digital, under the umbrella of entertainment giant RS, has launched its first online game on a mobile.

The game is based on its "Pong Lang La-on" TV animation characters.

Launching the online game is part of RS's strategy to aggressively penetrate the digital content market, which has been its policy during the past few years.

It plans to gradually develop more online games by developing characters from its current artists after this.

"Although online games are still a small market worth only Bt100 million compared to the total market value of digital mobile content of over Bt1 billion, and doesn't show big growth yet, we still consider the market as an important one.

We are confident that all content owners will pay high attention to the digital content market by next year," said RS's mobile business vice president Paul Manatthaworn.4

The online game - called "The Pong Lang La-on Dance" - features animation characters dancing.

Their dancing will be controlled by game players by using key pads on mobile phones.
