PAD holds rally in Chanthaburi
The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) in Chanthaburi and Trad on Monday distributed leaflets to mobilise people to hold a rally in the afternoon outside a deserted hotel in Chanthaburi's Muang District.
Chaiwat Sinsuwong, a leader of the PAD from Bangkok will join the rally that is expected to draw a big crowd with the appearance of famous singers. Chanthaburi is the province bordering Sa Kaew in which the General Border Committee meeting is taking place with an objective to end the military stand-off between Thailand and Cambodia.
About 5,000 PAD members last week clashed with local Si Sa Ket people after they were marching to the Preah Vihear Temple to announce that the temple belonged to Thailand in accordance with the demarcation set by a Thai-French committee in 1904.
