New pricing structure of LPG to conclude next month

The new pricing structure of liquefied petroleum gas is expected to be concluded early August, said Energy Permanent Secretary Pornchai Rujiprapha.



As chairman of the working committee to solve gas shortage, Pornchai said Monday that to complete the new structure, the ministry needs to take into account many issues including safety, shift of gas for household use for vehicles, and strict law enforcement.

"It's still on schedule as we announced in March that the LPG price would be maintained at Bt18.13 per kg for six months," he said, noting that there would be no more shortages of gas. PTT will import 88,000 tonnes of LPG this month, with 60,000 tonnes having already reached Thailand.

It was anticipated that the new pricing structure, which would raise the LPG price for vehicles.
