The country will also impose a temporary anti-dumping duty on glass-block imports from the Czech Republic for four months, having detected dumping likely to destroy the domestic industry. 

Colombo flights

Starting on Tuesday, SriLankan Airlines will add three direct flights between Bangkok and Colombo, bringing its weekly schedule to 10, Amitabh Anthonypillai, the airline's manager for Thailand and the Mekong region, said yesterday. 

Nu Skin upbeat

Nu Skin Enterprises expects annual sales growth of 15-20 per cent in the Southeast Asia market will double its sales in the region between 2007 and 2010.

Six Southeast Asian countries including Thailand account for 10 per cent of the group's total sales. Sales in the region grew 14 per cent on year in the first half of this year, compared with 12 per cent in the same period last year. Thailand generated the highest sales, totalling Bt1.2 billion.

New models popular

BRG Ramkhamhaeng Group has recorded year-to-date sales of 182 cars. The car dealer set a sales target of 85 units for two new Toyota models, the Alphard and Vellfire, launched late last month, and more than half this number have been reserved, managing director Aujjima Srirattanaprapad said.

Due to the rising demand for natural gas for vehicles and liquefied petroleum gas as alternative fuels to petrol and diesel, Trang NGV Motor has decided to invest about Bt10 million to set up the largest NGV-tank and LPG-tank installation facility in the South, managing director Sathit Treepiyarat said.

Boom for Bluetooth

International Engineering (IEC) expects revenue of Bt4 billion this year thanks to the ban on mobile-phone use in cars.

The projection was raised from Bt3.6 billion after sales of its Bluetooth products jumped 50 per cent in the month since the ban was introduced.
