EC expected to rule on Samak's disqualification

The Election Commission will rule on Wednesday on whether to seek a Constitution Court ruling to disqualify Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej for violating the Constitution in regard to his cooking programme, EC member Somchai Jungprasert said on Friday.



Samak has been accused of breaching the Constitution for being an employee of a private enterprise to opearte a cooking television programme.

Somchai said the case had been put in the EC meeting agenda. The EC chairman is expected take up the matter for the EC final decision on July 16.
