Low-price fair to ease the burden

The Commerce Ministry will host a low-price goods fair called "Made in Thailand" at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani from August 8-17.



 Food and other daily necessities will be sold at discounts of 20 to 40 per cent to help consumers cope with the rising cost of living.

The event is expected to generate more than Bt500 million in sales, which will not only help consumers reduce expenses but will also stimulate economic growth, permanent secretary Siripol Yodmuangcharoen said yesterday.

Pias store set to raise an eyebrow

Pias International (Thailand) has opened Anastasia, Beverly Hills at CentralWorld to provide eyebrow treatment services.

The franchised business has more than 80 branches in the US and branches in Canada, France, Greece, Romania and Japan.

All franchised units in Japan and Asia are overseen by the Japan-based Pias Corp.

Hiroyuki Kawano, general manager of Pias International (Thailand), said with its unique services, the chain in Japan had grown to 10 branches in three years.

TAT, NIDA link up on training

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and the National Institute of Development Administration yesterday signed an agreement to train and upgrade human resources.

The partners will design training curriculums or courses for tourism and service businesses to improve all levels of labour.

NIDA will provide knowledge on the science of tourism while the TAT will contribute specialists and retired staff to run the programme.
