Natthawut apologises for mistakenly acussing Democrat MP

Government deputy spokesman Natthawut Saikua on Friday admitted he had erred by accusing Democrat MP Sakhorn Kieukong of involving in the protests in Krabi on Tuesday's night.

"I made a mistake," Natthawut said in reference to his earlier remarks on Sakhon's role in the protests against Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung.

He conceded Sakhon flew back to Bangkok and was not present in Krabi when Chalerm arrived for an inspection visit.

He earlier blamed Sakhon and the Democrat Party for backing the protests. The main opposition party rigorously denied his accusation.
