Major set to market condo at singapore roadshow

Major Development has launched its first overseas roadshow in Singapore to market its luxury condominiums to foreigners.

"We will present them the company's works and new projects in the future. We expect that foreign investors will be interested in our company," CEO Suriyon Poolvaralaks said yesterday.

Already 10 leading institutional investors have booked seats to hear the company's presentation today and tomorrow.

The domestic political turmoil and economic slowdown will not affect the company's business as well as foreign investor confidence because the company focuses on customers with high purchasing power, he said.

Besides, the company's projects are situated in high-potential locations.

Major also plans to head to new markets including Australia, England, the United States, Russia and Scandinavia to enlarge its customer base for property projects as well as boost revenue.

Major will also enter the hotel business through its new subsidiary Major Development Hotels and Resorts, which plans to build five-star hotels that will provide a sustainable revenue stream in the future.

"We see the hotel business as having the potential to increase the company's income," he said.

Major is building a Bt600-million hotel in Hua Hin that will open in 2010.

The Reflection Jomtien Beach Pattaya, the first super-luxury

condominium in Pattaya and the third project for Major this year, has had a good response from customers. It has two towers with a combined 332 units worth Bt3.3 billion.

The company expects its second quarter to outdo its first, when it earned Bt107.6 million on revenues of Bt614.52 million.

Revenue for the entire year will be better than last year, he added.
