Court debates Chaiya's qualifications

The Constitution Court today begins its debate to form a decision on the qualifications of Public Health Minister Chaiya Sasomsap, court secretary general Paiboon Warahapaitoon said on Tuesday.

"The nine judges are to form the verdict without succumbing to pressure from outside, such as the sentiment on the Cabinet reshuffle," he said.

Chaiya has submitted his defence to rebut the accusation that his wife allegedly violated the five per cent cap on equity stakes.

The verdict is expected on July 9.
