A source at the Transport Ministry said management restructuring and the extension of a land lease to Central Group would be top of Yuthana's agenda once he takes the top post.
"He will also be in charge of drafting contractors' terms of references for projects approved by the board, such as network improvement. SRT will also need a new consultant to review the Makkasan Complex, which requires an investment of billions of baht," the source said. Legal disputes held up the SRT naming its new chief. It has been run without a governor for two years, which has delayed restructuring and investment. The appointment of Yuthana will become official once Cabinet endorses it.
SRT spokesman Suchatchawee Suwansawas said the board resolved not to appeal a Central Administrative Court ruling earlier that Yuthana was qualified to be the new governor.
