Spending decline in Yala dents business

High oil prices have resulted in a 50-per-cent drop in spending in Yala, Arvudh Kraisorn, the owner of Yala Park View Hotel, said.



Most people have to shoulder higher oil bills as it is safer to travel in large vehicles than by motorcycle in the strife-torn province.

Mega-film studio forced to cut back

Toranong Srichua has cut some construction projects in his Bt3-billion Complex Toranong Studio in a bid to control the costs.

He said the construction work was 10 per cent complete, but costs had risen 20-30 per cent. To cope with higher costs, the studio plans to ask the Board of Investment to waive import tariffs for film gear. - The Nation

Media of Medias has recently signed a contract to adopt 3D virtual-studio technology and facilities for its satellite news channel.
