Tear off the 'Mrs' label? No way!

On the day of its launch, the new Female Title Act drew more than 1,000 Thai women to district offices around the country to change their titles from Mrs to Miss.

Tear off the 'Mrs' label? No way!

One woman said she had waited for 10 years to finally regain her freedom, while an¬other said she would now be able to put her past behind her and start a new life as a single.

But does being divorced and carrying the title "Mrs" in front of your name mean you are locked behind bars? Surely, life is still yours.

Every day can be your new day and you can do whatever you like, within moral bounds.

One woman said that having the title "Mrs" reduced her chances of finding true love.

But if a man is afraid to start a relationship and can't love you because you once failed in marriage and divorced, you're better staying away from him. He's not worth it.

I'm a "Mrs", and I'm divorced. There was a time when I was embarrassed to show people my ID card. But one day I found enlightenment: the title is only a reminder of my stupid decision and hundreds of careless mistakes.

To me, being a "Mrs" and divorced is like having the title "Dr". It means I have achieved a higher level of experience in life and have become wiser.
