The charter is a pillar needed in running the country : HM the King

In his speech given to newly appointed judges on the Constitution Court on Wednesday, His Majesty the King said: "The Constitution is a pillar needed in running the country."

"With the pillar, the governance and people determined to follow the principles, the country will function well," he added.

The nine judges, led by Court Chief Justice Chat Chollaworn, were sworn in by His Majesty.

"The Constitution is a vital factor for the country, because with it as a pillar in running the country, governance will go well," the King said.

In another speech made later with Administrative Court judges, led by Akkarathorn Chularat, HM the King told them to "act in accordance with the Constitution."

His Majesty is expected to leave Bangkok soon for Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Hua Hin district, after his last visit there two years ago.

Prachuap Khiri Khan residents, especially those living in Hua Hin, are delighted to welcome Their Majesties the King and Queen to Klai Kangwon Palace.

The crowds will be allowed to gather alongside a Phet Kasem Road section from Hua Hin airfield to the residence to watch the royal motorcade travel past. National flags are decorated the road.

The palace was built in 1926 by King Rama VII for his wife Queen Ramphai Phannee.

In neighbouring Phetchaburi, where the motorcade will also travel past, 10,000 decorative lights are to be lit at Khao Wang mount while fireworks will be displayed to welcome Their Majesties, who will leave Bangkok on a coming schedule.

Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial governor Parnchai Bowornrattanapran said Their Majesties last visited Klai Kangwon on June 7, 2006.

During his absence from his summer residence, the King had hospital treatment in Bangkok for his health problems and has now recovered.
