IBM in Smart soa push for more revenue

IBM Software will aggressively market Smart Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and foster business partnerships to increase revenue by more than 100 per cent by the end of the year.

IBM Thailand software group country manager Jadesada Kraisingkorn said Smart SOA is an upgraded version of SOA, which enables businesses to enhance governance and management, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing application-development costs.

"The Smart SOA will help businesses cut costs and increase efficiency up to five times," Jadesada said.

She said IBM Thailand will provide Smart SOA to existing SOA customers in telecom, finance and banking sectors.

TMB Bank chief information officer Saipin Kittipornpimol said the bank is using Smart SOA in its personal-loans department.

The bank normally takes three to seven days to process personal loan applications. However, the Smart SOA allows the bank to complete the process within a day.

"Smart SOA will enable TMB to expand service offerings and reduce operational risks," Saipin said.

The bank will use Smart SOA in its secured-loans business, trade finance and for setting up accounts, Saipin said.

Jadesada said IBM Thailand will foster business partnerships to expand its customer base in the enterprise- and general- business segment in metros and other areas.
