NTC queries AIS on its 3G network

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has yet to permit Advanced Info Service (AIS) to roll out 400 mobile broadband third-generation networks in six provinces plus Bangkok, pending more details of the effect it will have on the company's existing subscribers.

The NTC yesterday asked AIS to submit more details for consideration.

Separately, the NTC granted an additional 1.5 million mobile-phone numbers to True Move.

Jet Airways launches online check-in

Jet Airways is making available online check-in for passengers flying to Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, London and Brussels. Through their website at www.jetairways.com, they can select their preferred seats and have their boarding passes printed before leaving for the airport.

In a statement, the Indian airline said passengers could also check in 12-24 hours in advance and that they were required to arrive at the airport at least 75 minutes before departure, for baggage and travel-document checks.
