New committee to facilitate projects

The Cabinet yesterday approved the establishment of a Public-Private Partnership Committee chaired by the prime minister, to coordinate with the private sector in tackling delays in state projects, said Government Spokesman Wichianchot Sukchotrat.



The secretary-general to the prime minister and the director of the Budget Bureau will be committee vice chairmen.

Other representatives will come from the National Economic and Social Development Board, the Fiscal Policy Office, the Public Debt Management Office, the State Enterprise Policy Office, the Council of State, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Office of the Attorney-General.

"The committee will oversee cooperation of joint-ventures between the state and the private sector on important projects, including consideration of fund preparation and following work progress," Wichianchot said. - The Nation

Budget approved to beautify Bangkok

The Cabinet yesterday approved Bt48 million for the Sports and Tourism Ministry to install lights to beautify spots in Bangkok.
