Demco upbeat

Demco, a power-station contractor, expects 10 to 20 percent growth in revenue this year, with a plan to bid for more construction projects from both state agencies and private companies.

"With strong business potential and skills, we're confident that we can win the bids," said managing director Pradej Kitti-itsaranon.

In 2007, the company's revenue was Bt2.2 billion. Demco posted a 68.9-per-cent increase in first quarter net profit this year, from Bt31.70 million last year to Bt53.53 million. Net profit rose though revenue dropped 1.78 per cent year on year as a result of the sharp increase in the price of structural steel.

Demco is now conducting the second phase of expansion of a steel plant to lift the plant's total capacity to 12,000 tonnes per annum.  - The Nation
