All marine national parks on the Andaman Sea were ordered to close yesterday due to high seas and heavy storms that have arrived earlier than usual. The closures will continue indefinitely.
Marine national parks are usually closed from November 20 to December 31.
The National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department also closed several inland national parks for fear of flash floods and landslides. Kaneg Sue Ten, Mae Yom and Sri Nakharin national parks will be closed until October 31.
Many waterfalls are also closed.
Visit the department's website at www.dnp.go.th for further details.
In Nakhon Sawan and Kamphaeng Phet in the lower North, flash floods have inundated a vast area, including thousands of rai of farmland and corn plantations.
Four districts in Nakhon Sawan are under deep water and many roads are cut. Bridges have collapsed in two districts in Kamphaeng Phet, where a school's opening scheduled for yesterday was postponed.
A large number of residents in Mae Pern in Kamphaeng Phet are ready for evacuation.
