
Airport to grow Airports of Thailand's board approved a
Bt3-billion budget to build a new passenger terminal, cargo buildings and runways at Phuket International Airport.
Phuket Airport director Vicha Nernlop said the number of tourists flying to the island had exceeded expectations.
The airport has to improve its infrastructure to cope with the jump in arrivals.
"There were 2.84 million arrivals from December to February, showing a 15.82-per-cent jump year on year.
We predict that will
rise to 6 million for the year," he said.
HDD expansionSingle Point Parts (Thailand), maker of high-precision metal and plastic components for hard-disk drives, has invested Bt23.75 million to buy land and build a factory to expand its non-HDD business.
Managing director Chakrit Methigunchanan said the site was
at Rojana Pranakorn Si Ayuthaya.
