Imagimax will collaborate with international publishers to deliver original digital content to the global market next year and plans to list on Market of Alternative Investment (MAI).
The company's managing director Saksiri Koshpasharin said the company is negotiating with international publishers to become a distribution partner and co-producer of original content, such as cartoons and edutainment software, with the aim of delivering original digital content to the global market.
"We want to provide our original content to the global market. That is our dream and goal. We now have five demo titles of original digital content with which to approach publishers. The company expects to finalise the deals in the near future and debut the content in the market next year," Saksiri said.
He said the company has also planned to introduce its co-produced animation film in the international and Thai market next year.
The company now provides outsourced digital-content and animation-development services to domestic and international clients, covering pre-production to the wrap-up stage.
It also offers creative services in digital content creation including concept design, illustration, storyboard development, character design, modelling and texturing, animation, lighting, compositing and editing.
"The company not only concentrates on creating 3D animation - which usually uses computers but also utilises the advantage of computer technology to create the traditional style of making animation in 2D. Our 2D services cover all stages - from storyboarding to the final stage of the production," Saksiri said.
The company has divided its services into eight categories including computer-generated imagery (CGI) for television commercials, 3D animation for film and series, CGI for digital games, visual effects for feature films, traditional 2D animation, graphic design and website design, mobile content and special projects. It has more than 60 customers such as Chaiya Production, Sharp and YOHO Film with the domestic and international companies contributing revenue at a ratio of 50:50.
"We try to balance our customer ratio between the domestic and international businesses so that we always have various projects and are able to provide the transfer of new technology between customers," Saksiri said.
The company also works with Software Industry Promotion Agency and the Education Ministry to conduct courses in animation so that students can make use of market knowledge gathered from the market.
Saksiri said Imagimax is undergoing a restructuring process as it prepares to list on the MAI .
"The global gaming business is a huge market and holds big potential. Thai animation and software developers have the potential to produce digital content that meets international standards and can easily serve the domestic and international markets," he said.
