Mercedes-Benz Thailand has been awarded the "Mercedes-Benz Quality Award CKD 2007" by its parent company based in Germany.

The award was created to assess seven of the automobile company's assembly factories in seven countries (India, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and Thailand) to ensure these factories meet Mercedes-Benz's high manufacturing standards.

"This award convincingly represents the potential of Thai engineers and Thailand's automobile assembly technology, which obviously meets the global standard," Mercedes-Benz Thailand president and chief executive Wolfgang Huppenbauer said.

Delphi appoints TAC as

authorised distributor in Thailand

Delphi Product & Service Solutions (DPSS) has said it has appointed TAC to be the first authorised distributor for DPSS in Thailand.

"As Southeast Asia's second-biggest economy, Thailand represents a very exciting opportunity for Delphi," Delphi Product and Service Solutions president Francisco A Ordoez said. "We are confident that we will be able to gain shares of the growing automotive aftermarket segment in this country - a market that is demanding high-quality parts."

In the partnership with TAC, DPSS will distribute Delphi branded parts to car owners through a network of more than 2,000 dealers and workshops in Thailand.
