Seripisut charges PM for abuse of power to fire him

Former national police chief General Seripisut Temiyavej on Friday lodged a complaint accusing Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej of abuse of power relating to his unfair dismissal.

Seripisut asked the National Counter Corruption Commission to look into the matter. He argued that Samak had wrongfully dismissed him before launching a factfinding probe to determine whether there was cause to suspect his involvement in serious disciplinary violations as alleged.

Samak bypassed the factfinding stage and leaped to authorise the disciplinary proceedings in order to find a pretext to remove him from office, he said.
