"A rise in revenue will come from news and in the adjustment of show times," he said.
The company plans to change its non-prime-time television shows in July to meet its revenue target.
Modernine TV vice president Suthichai Bunnag said the channel would expand airtime for mid-day news shows from Monday to Friday by 15 minutes.
It will start the show at 11:45 am instead of noon.
The company will also adjust some programmes which cannot generate revenue as planned, he
said.
Suthichai said some producers of TV shows for TITV channel are keen to produce programmes for Modernine TV.
The firm will also produce shows itself, focusing more on educational-entertainment shows.
Meanwhile, an MCOT source said it was policy not to allocate radio frequencies to other private operators, because the radio business generates good revenue.
For instance, The Seed radio channel can generate up to Bt12 million monthly, while country music
on FM95 earns Bt15 million a month.
MCOT shareholders yesterday approved the nominations of new four directors - Nathi Premrasmi, deputy permanent secretary to Prime Minister's office minister Jakrapob Penkair, deputy director of the State Enterprise Policy Office Danucha Yindeepit, economist Asusorn Tamajai and managing director of Fourth Corporation Pongchai Amatanont.
Wasan is also among three existing directors reappointed to the board, aside from Wittayatorn Tokeaw and Wilasinee Adulyanon.
A plan to add five members to the board was suspended.
The shareholders said they did not know beforehand that there was an agenda to approve another five members.
But their names would be proposed to the board soon.
Among them are Jakrapob's close aide Jarupong Ruangsuwan, who was former permanent secretary of the Labour Ministry, deputy permanent secretary of the Justice Ministry and former MCOT board director Thongtong Chandrangsu and businessman Pramote Cholesirikulchai.
