After all the projects are completed by the end of the year, Osmep expects to generate Bt60 million worth of revenue to workforces in the South and produce value-added goods worth more than Bt75 million. The provinces covered by the plan are Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Songkhla, Satun and Krabi.
Director-general Jhitraporn Techacharn said the projects would focus on three potential businesses: livestock, community products and textiles.
"We aim to develop our local operators' potential and help them to expand their markets internationally," she said.
One of the projects is to develop a logistics system and promote small-and medium-sized entrepreneurs in three provinces in the deep South.
To develop production processes from upstream to downstream, Osmep will build a commercial model scheme to transfer know-how to local operators and boost management skills in marketing and distribution.
Jhitraporn said Osmep would undertake business matching to promote community products in larger markets.
"Last year we were successful in business matching, with sales orders boosted to Bt65 million," she said.
Osmep was granted a budget of Bt35.3 million to support the projects this year and plans to ask for more funds to continue them next year.
