The SET50 Index Futures S50M08 (expiring at the end of June 2008) closed 15.2 points or 32.51 per cent higher from the previous week at 604.9.
The SET Index surged amid heavy trading volume. Energy stocks led the gains, thanks to the spike in oil prices and the return of foreign investors to the Thai stock market although the political situation remains uncertain.
Total weekly volume on the TFEX was 10,746 contracts, representing around Bt6.28 billion. Of the total contracts, 10,449 contracts
were futures and 297 contracts were put options. Open interest contracts as of April 17 numbered 18,574.
