It is the first international promotion following the group's inaugural MICE directory, launched at the end of last year.

The promotion, "Meeting Planner Gift Collection Rewards", offers a return air fare from Hong Kong and Singapore to Bangkok.

Senior vice president Octavio Gamarra called the MICE market a top priority for Dusit International this year and said the group was putting greater effort into this key market segment.

"We have begun by appointing directors of MICE sales, to understand the specific needs of customers," said Gamarra.

He said the company was introducing a meeting centre for properties, with the first one in the Dusit Thani Dubai.

"We believe the timing is right for Dusit International to be a serious player in the MICE industry," he said.

The group is offering four types of promotion. Book 20 rooms a night for two nights and receive two suite upgrades and a cocktail for all delegates upon arrival. Forty rooms a night for two nights comes with four suite upgrades and a free cocktail party for one hour. Booking 80 rooms a night for two nights receives two suite upgrades, eight club-room upgrades and a cocktail party for one hour. 100 rooms a night for two nights entails a complimentary presidential suite for two nights for the meeting and complimentary return air fare for two from Hong Kong or Singapore to Bangkok.

The promotion is available at all Dusit Thani hotels and the Dusit D2 Hotel in Chiang Mai until September 30.

Dusit International recently launched a rebranded hotel in Manila, positioning it as the best hotel in the capital.

Dusit Thani Manila manager Frank Grassmann said that with the renovations, the hotel was expected to be the best in Manila.

It was previously known as the Dusit Nikko Hotel.

Located in Manila's Makati business district, the hotel has 538 newly renovated guestrooms and nine meeting and boardrooms. It can provide for the needs of corporate clients for large banquets and events.
