Tuxedo magician can make thing disappear underwater.
Leading Thai magician Mr Tuxedo is all set to entertain Bangkok audiences this month with a series of tricks at Siam Ocean World. And he won't just be getting wet - he'll be underwater.
"Performing a magic show underwater is three times more difficult. The water pressure makes everything trickier," says Tuxedo, aka Pairoat Ithiawatchakul, the owner of Magic Castle in Pattaya.
"I've been practising for two or three weeks. The water pressure makes you move much slower and that's hard for a magician, as magic tricks are all about speed. Obviously, I've had to choose tricks that don't depend on speed but use illusion instead."
Tuxedo is the first Thai to make it on to the list of the World's Master Magicians. He studied engineering science at Chulalongkorn University but never gave up his dreams of being a magician.
"Magic is a miracle," he grins.
He learned by reading, practising and observing, eventually becoming a member of the Siam Magic club. Once he'd mastered enough tricks, he created his own style of presentation and while still working as an engineer at Laem Chabang, began performing at night.
Tuxedo and his team will entertain visitors to Siam Ocean World with a variety of shows including one by both magicians and divers called "Open Ocean" as well as the Bozo Magic Show in the Deep Reef aquarium.
The highlight is the 15minute "Tuxedo Underwater Magic Show" in which he'll make things magically disappear underwater.
There are also other shows all around the aquarium, among them a streetmagic show featuring various tricks and magic balloons.
