Globetrotting travellers will be familiar with bright Movenpick icecream parlours and kiosks, and now they're popping up in Thailand too.
The Swissbased chain last week introduced the first 10 of its globalfavourite flavours at the Movenpick Resort and Spa on Phuket's Karon Beach.
Why is Movenpick ice cream so good? Because of the best ingredients from around the world, says the company - that's what the inventor insisted on back in 1961.
"Our ice creams are delicious because we only use natural ingredients for flavouring," says Olivier Jakubowicz, who handles the Movenpick business development for Nestle (Thailand).
"We use only real fruit, real eggs and real cream, and no artificial substances whatsoever."
The branch on Karon Beach is Thailand's first.
The 10 flavours available at Movenpick Phuket are Vanilla Dream, Swiss Chocolate, Strawberry, Espresso Croquet, Caramelita, Stracciatella, Maple Walnut and three sorbets - Passion Fruit & Mango, Lemon & Lime and Raspberry.
The company plans to be offering its natural tastes in Bangkok soon, starting with the rooftop restaurant Vertigo at the Banyan Tree Hotel. Branches will be set up in other top hotels and in supermarkets.
"This is the premium of the premium ice creams," says Jakubowicz. "It's special because - you know when you make something out of your own kitchen, you tend to only use the best ingredients you can afford.
The price of a scoop starts at Bt140, but who's going to hesitate when you're getting the best in the world?
