The company expects its revenue to reach Bt840 million to Bt910 million, an increase from Bt700 million last year. The company is a distributor of films and music under its brand name Mangpong.

CEO Nalinrat Nannon said yesterday the company expected to attract more collectors and visitors who love watching movies with their families.

The company started five years ago by selling films made by production companies such as the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery and Animal Planet, Nalinrat said. She said the company had to pay Bt100 as a licence fee to distributors for their content and is also negotiating with few more companies to be their distributor.

The company has 250 sales points, comprising shops and kiosks. It plans to adjust the displays in 80 shops and this should be finished in one month, at a cost of Bt10 million.

It expects edutainment content to be 30 per cent of the content available, with movie content 30 per cent and music another 30 per cent.

Nalinrat said part of the reason for the repositioning was to reduce the intense competition with pirated products "as people who like to watch edutainment content are highly educated and usually have high respect for other's intellectual property".

She said revenue last year missed the firm's earlier expectation of a 20-per-cent increase, due to political and economic uncertainty.

This year, she expects both politics and economics to be stable, which will not only enable the firm to achieve its revenue target but also gain more profit.
