PM sacks National Police Chief Seripisut

Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej on Wednesday sacked national police chief General Seripisut Temiyavej to pave way for the disciplinary proceedings.



The dismissal was conditional to the outcome of the probe and Seripisut could be reinstated after clearing his name.

Seripisut faces myriad of disciplinary charges relating to his questionable conduct in office. His allged violations include making rude remarks against his subordinates, taking helicopter trips for personal purpose, transfering police officers without legal sanction and

Last month Samak seconded him to the PM's Office to form the disciplinary panel. Before his sacking, Seripisut attended a Monday's rite organised by astrologer Warin Buawiratlert who last week made a coup prediction against Samak.
