Regional Container Lines to get new ships

Regional Container Lines' board has approved the acquisition of two container vessels worth Bt4.15 billion, to be undertaken by its wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore.

Published on April 8, 2008

The two container vessels, which will service regional container transport, are 39,200 tonnes with a loading capacity of 2,732 20-foot equivalent units each. The vessels were sold by Polaris Ship Management.

Cebu Pacific routes

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines' leading airline to destinations within Asean, will start flying directly from Cebu to Boracay, Macau and Bangkok this month.

With the two additional international services, CEB now flies seven non-stop services from Cebu, including Hong Kong, Pusan, Seoul, Singapore and Taipei.

"With these three new routes, we hope to further raise foreign-travel interest and boost tourism and trade across the country," said spokeswoman Candice Iyog. "This will also provide greater flexibility and convenience for those who are based in the Visayas and Mindanao region."
