BoI approves 3 eco-car projects

The Board of Investment on Wednesday approved investment projects worth over Bt60 bilion, including three eco-car projects of Tata Group, Mitsubishi and Toyota.

Deputy Prime Minister and Industry Minister Suwit Khunkitti said after the meeting that the other projects cover the third natural gas pipeline of PTT worth Bt41 billion, a biodiesel production plant, and the aviation fuel production expansion of a local refinery.

Among seven eco-car projects, only that of Volkswagen has not yet won the tax privileges from the investment promotion agency.

"If all seven projects go ahead with the investment, the total value of the investment would be over Bt70 billion," Suwit said.
