Pizza Hut gets fishy for the school break

Families eating out during the school break are the target for a new menu Yum Restaurants International (Thailand) has launched for its Pizza Hut restaurants.

"Fresh sticks pizza" - featur-ing fish on the pizza rim - is designed specifically for family diners who are the main clients

of the restaurants, accounting

for 40 per cent of the total, said company marketing director Nongnuch Buranasetkul.

"It has nutritious value that parents love for their kids," she added.

The new menu is expected to increase the visiting frequency of current customers and attract those who have never tried Pizza Hut before. The result is expected to boost sales during the two-month break by 20 per cent. Currently, customers visit Pizza Hut two times per month, spending Bt400 each time.

"We cannot say exactly whether consumers consider Pizza Hut as a restaurant that serves healthy food or not, but

at least we expect them to

think of Pizza Hut as a restaurant with a variety of pizza menus as well as other foods," Nongnuch said.

Pizza Hut usually launches a new pizza every eight weeks, along with other foods such as the salad bar, even more often.

Since early this year, Pizza

Hut has already launched many new menu items such as Cheesy Sausage Bite Fondue, Cheesy Lava Pizza and 11 pizza top-

pings. In the first quarter, the restaurant achieved 15 per cent sales growth compared to last year.

Pizza Hut also expects a 15-per-cent increase in sales over the whole year.
